It all started in 2020 when COVID-19 pandemic hit our beautiful world. We had plenty of time to read, research, and brainstorm. We wanted to create something meaningful and do something beneficial for our planet.
One of those days without a clear purpose we came across a phenomenal plant: The hemp.
In the beginning, the research was out of curiosity. The more we read about it, the more it astonished us with its benefits and how little we knew about it.
There was not enough information on the internet about hemp. We went to public universities' agricultural departments to collect more information on how and where to grow hemp. It turned out cultivating hemp was (still is) illegal in our country except a few states. In other words, we were inspired by the small amount of organic hemp that they grow in a traditional way to get fibers for hemp fabric. At that moment we had clear picture of what we were going to do with hemp.
We were already familiar with the textile industry. We came up with the idea of creating a sustainable clothing brand out of organic hemp. This would give people an eco-friendly option to wear in their everyday life. This is the story of how a simple idea became Lavanken.
We believe that it is the beginning of a new era: The era of smart consumption. Everything we use is provided by the nature and go back to the nature. We also believe that, by time, enough demand for natural products will lead multinational companies to turn their attention to create more eco-friendly products.
For a better world. For a better future.
